Treatment options for patients with Advanced Heart Failure are limited and often come with poor outcomes. Several recent publications show that LVADs offer a viable therapy alternative for this group. However, it is important to know whether this is a good alternative for the patient being considered and, if so, what is the best time to implant the LVAD.

This course will address these questions and provide a state-of-the-art overview of this growing therapy modality.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

• Benefit from a comprehensive understanding of LVAD therapy in general
• Be up to date in their knowledge of state-of-the-art LVAD treatment and the present status of clinical data
• Identify patients who are eligible for LVAD therapy
• Understand and apply critical elements of this training when discussing LVAD therapy with their patients
